With “Let Them All Talk” (2020), has Steven Soderbergh finally made a chick flick? A mom movie? Whatever you want to call it, our two dads—Mike and Keir—really, really liked it. Steven Soderbergh shot his last movie on an iPhone 7, and he liked the experience so much that he did it again, but with one key difference—he shot “High Flying Bird” (2019) with an iPhone 8.

“Gladiator II” is officially in theaters, and the Filmographers have taken their seats in the coliseum to cast judgment. Is Paul Mescal ready to fill the size-twelve sandals of Russell Crowe? Are Denzel Washington’s Training Day techniques suitable for Roman fighters? Is Sir Ridley Scott already planning Gladiator XX? Keir and Mike stand ready to give thumbs up or thumbs down.

With his previous movie, “Logan Lucky,” Soderbergh showed his middle finger to the studio system and released his movie his way. Now, with “Unsane” (2018), he abandons yet another filmmaking convention—the camera.

Winter is coming, and there's an exciting slate of movies coming our way. From big budget spectacles to Oscar bait dramas to fun family flicks, winter has it all, and we're giving our rundown--cage match style--of them all.
Not only that, but--Steven Soderbergh has been talking about retirement for YEARS. And now, in 2013, the time has come. Is the film he goes out on his “Citizen Kane,” his “Heaven’s Gate,” his “Megalopolis”? It’s a movie about Liberace and his lover, Scott Thorson—you be the judge!

Steven Soderbergh has made it a point to assimilate the work of other directors and make it his own. He’s borrowed from Jean-Luc Godard, Orson Welles, Michael Curtiz, and even Richard Lester. And now he’s updating . . . Paul Verhoeven and Adrian Lyne?!?

About the Hosts
Hosts Michael Moreci and Keir Graff are film obsessives and working writers. Moreci is a screenwriter, film director, and bestselling author of such comics as Star Wars, Stranger Things, Barbaric, and many more. Graff is a prolific author, editor, and ghostwriter whose collaborators include James Patterson and Linda Joffe Hull (writing as Linda Keir). Like Riggs and Murtaugh, or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, they are best when together, especially when hosting The Filmographers Podcast.
